It’s a perfect time to get stuck into some D.I.Y

Below are some excellent ideas for D.I.Y projects you can do at home in your garage. Restoration and maintenance ideas, projects that will extend the life of your vehicles and accessories, your equipment and machinery, as well as leaving them looking awesome.

Enhance and Protect your gear with RAPTOR

RAPTOR makes for a great D.I.Y project because it’s really easy to use, it’s pretty hard to stuff it up, it comes out looking awesome and whatever you put it on (and you can put it on anything) will stay good for years.

What is RAPTOR?

Raptor is a super-tough, highly durable, UV-stable coating that is applied by spray gun, roller or brush. Raptor ensures protection against scratches, abrasions, rust, corrosion, damp and extreme temperatures. It’s so versatile it can be applied to most surfaces including steel, aluminium and plastic. It has a texured finish that can be adjusted during application using different spray paterns.

Do I need any special equipment?

To use the RAPTOR spray kits (which we recommend as far as value for money and quality of finish goes) you will need a Shutz spray gun. This is a pretty standard rust proofing gun and you can generally pick up a good quality Shutz Gun for under $50 bucks.

You’ll also need an Air Compressor. It doesn’t need to be huge but you will want something putting out at least 200LPM.

You can add years to the life of your 4WD, caravan or trailer simply by applying a moisture inhibiting coating like SW2.

What is SW2?

SW2 is an easy to apply Protective Coating which forms a hard water resistant film. It dries to a transparent satin finish that helps prevent corrosion from moisture, salt and other contaminants to your vehicle’s undercarriage. It can be left as is or painted over with most paint types making it an extremely versatile coating. This stuff is particularly good for hard to reach areas like inside door trims, hollow chassis rails and trailer frames. It gets into those hard to reach areas where rust often starts forming then seals over everything protecting steel from the elements. Spray it on, let it dry then head up the beach without concern.

Do I need any special equipment?

No. You can apply SW2 with brush or cloth, or any kind of trigger sprayer like an old window cleaner bottle for example. However the most efficient way to apply sw2 is with a spray gun or rust proofing gun.
